I don’t know about you but there is a certain cynicism I have about the emails I receive in my inbox. You have probably felt the same way about some of the stuff I have sent you or others have sent you over the past year.
I understand that.
Why? Because people do not tell the truth when they are advertising stuff. We all know it and it keeps us from buying and investing in the things we really need to become successful. So if I send you something I know will work for you, you have a natural inclination to think I’m not telling the truth.
It seems that hype (the politically-correct word for “lie”) has become the norm for most ads that come out. There are even entire groups that try to teach you how to “lie” better to get people to give up their money.
I have received numerous ads from people I KNOW for a fact that do not have “two nickels to rub together”, can’t pay their bills, yet they are sending out ads stating they have made thousands of dollars in one week and they want you to buy in, too.
Did anyone ever tell them that’s lying?
Somehow they think if they just use one of the pre-made ads for a product and shade the truth a little by saying they have made money, this will get others to buy the product, too.
That’s wrong! Can I say it again? That’s WRONG!!!
Just tell the truth and you will do much better. Honesty is not the best policy - its the ONLY policy.
Have I ever “shaded the truth?” Yes, but not intentionally.
I was just doing what many do by sending out the pre-made ads and not really reading them closely. When I started reading them closely and discovered they weren’t the truth concerning MY life - I stopped sending them. That’s why I write my OWN ads AFTER I have used or tried a product or service.
It’s this common culture of lying that has diluted words like “guarantee” or “guaranteed.” When people see those words they don’t REALLY believe its guaranteed. Their next thought is to look for the fine print that says “this really will not work like we said. We just want you to buy our product so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work like we claimed it would.”
Isn’t that what most fine print says “in so many words?”
So why am I ranting and raving about this? For two reasons.
1) I am tired of getting lies in my email box. I want someone to send me a truthful ad about THEIR experience, not about someone else’s experience. What did the product do for YOU? Did it work for YOU? Just be truthful.
2) There are so many who are wasting their hard-earned money on traffic resources that do not work while there is a TRUE resource that guarantees traffic. I talk about it all the time.
Why? Because it works.
This is the one time when the word “guaranteed” means “guaranteed.”
